This past Friday and Monday Laila had some severe meltdowns. On Friday her teacher included an ABC Observation. It gives you step by step what the student did and what the teacher did, and the end result. I was shocked. I am at a loss of words and really can't think of what to do. Her teacher has been doing a very good job of emailing me and letting me know what's changed. On Monday I just decided to call Laila's speech therapist and let her know the issue. We see her today and she said she would work on a communication book for her. I assume it would include phrases like "I don't feel good," "leave me alone," and "No, I don't want to." This would make the second communication book we have in stock. The first one goes over the basics like: stop, quiet, mad, wash hands, get dressed, bathroom, clean up, wait a minute, and Great!
I am really hoping for some progress. All of her frustration comes from her not being able to say her words, so we are always dealing with melt- downs.
Wish me luck!

Aww im sorry to hear about the melt downs. Both my kids sometimes cry so hard i think they forget why they are crying, i put their hands under cold water, to "wake" them up. Then they slow down breath and try to tell me whats wrong. Its very hard as parent to not be able to know what they want. Hang in there!
